At approximately 5:30 am this morning (July 23), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a fire at a residence on Queen Street where a female was seen running away from the location.
A 24 year old Charlottetown female matching the description was located a short time later, arrested and subsequently charged with arson and breach of probation.
The accused remains in custody and will appear for a remand hearing later this afternoon.
The accused sustained minor injuries, was treated at the QEH and released into Police custody. The residence sustained minor damage as a result of the fire, but not sufficient enough to have displaced any of the residents.
