Charlottetown Police Services responded to two separate calls for service late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning (Oct 13) which resulted in a female being arrested.
At approximately 10:30 pm Tuesday night, Police and the Charlottetown Fire Department responded to a small fire in an apartment on Euston Street. The fire occurred on a stove and was determined to have been deliberately set. One occupant received minor burns to his fingers as he removed the burning debris from the top of the stove.
Later that same night at 3:50 am, Police responded to a complaint of a person with a handgun at a residence next door to where the fire had occurred. Upon arrival, Police spoke with the female suspect and recovered a handgun which turned out to be a bb/pellet gun.
The investigations into both occurrences led Police to arrest and charge a 30 year old Charlottetown female with arson, possession of a firearm for dangerous purposes and pointing a firearm.
The accused was remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
