On Saturday morning (Oct 23), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a residential break and enter on St Peters Road.
Sometime overnight, the attached garage of the residence was broken into. Stolen items included two shotguns, ammunition and multiple tools. The Street Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section attended the scene to support the investigation.
Within a few hours, Officers were able to identify the suspect and arrested him at his residence at 11:00 am.
A search warrant was executed – All stolen items were recovered along with stolen property from other unrelated theft files. In addition to the stolen property, a quantity of cocaine, cash and other drug paraphernalia was also seized.
The accused, a 37 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of property obtained by crime (x2)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking
- Fail to comply with an undertaking
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court on Thursday.
