Charlottetown Police Services responded to three separate impaired driving complaints within a three hour period on Saturday evening (Dec 4).

File: 20211809690 – At 5:35 pm Saturday evening, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a suspicious person acting erratically inside her parked vehicle at a business parking lot on University Avenue.  Officers attended and located the vehicle. While interacting with the driver, Police determined that she displayed signs of being impaired by drugs and was arrested.  An officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) confirmed the driver was under the influence of drugs and made the demand that a blood sample be provided.

A 28 year old Summerside female was released from custody with a 90 day driving prohibition order. Impaired driving charges are pending the blood sample toxicology results.

File: 20211810282 – At 7:10 pm Saturday evening ,  Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a vehicle that had driven onto the grass portion of an apartment building on Summer Street and that the driver appeared to by impaired.   Police located the vehicle and spoke with the driver on scene and determined that he was impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 22 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

File: 20211810710 – At 8:35 pm Saturday evening, Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on University Avenue.  Responding Officers located the vehicle on Allen Street and pulled it over.  The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 36 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

All charged individuals will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
