At approximately 7:50 pm Friday evening (Mar 1), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Rochford Street. Police located and pulled the vehicle over on Water Street. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed the male under arrest. He was brought back to the Police Station and refused to provide breath samples.
A 73 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public to plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers. The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
